The Alpago area
Alpago is a municipality located in the province of Belluno and made up of the towns of Chies, Farra, Pieve, Puos and Tambre. It is bordered to the south by the lake of Santa Croce (kite surfing paradise) and is characterized by the presence of the Cansiglio Forest. To the north, the peaks of the Lapisini mountains (or Dolomiti d’Alpago) crown it: the Col Mat, Col Nudo and Crep Nudo; to the east it borders with the province of Pordenone; to the south-east with the provinces of Pordenone and Treviso; to the west with the Alemagna road and the Municipality of Ponte nelle Alpi; to the north it flanks the Piave valley. Its location makes the area extremely interesting for the practice of hang gliding and paragliding, it offers opportunities for cultural and naturalistic visits, as well as for the practice of different sports.
